Going Nude On The Beach With Don’t Pretzel My Buttons

Today I'm posting my OPInion from the beach on my amazing summer vacation! Welcome to all my new followers and thanks so much for your lovely comments
Name: Don’t Pretzel My Buttons

Collection: Germany 2012

Colour: Nude crème with very light pink and yellow undertones

Coats: 2-3 coats

Pros: This is one of my new favourite nude shades as it is a subtle but chic, warm nude ! I love how there are really light undertones of both yellow and rose. It not only compliments my skin but it will look great on other OPI lovers with different skin tones. I am happy to report that it applied evenly and stayed on perfectly for days. I found that it dulled a little after the first day but I’m almost positive that was caused by an interaction with the sunscreen applied.

Cons: The polish is almost the same colour as my skin so sometimes it looked a bit weird I guess, but hey it’s a nude shade so this isn’t really a bad thing. Also when I first read the name of this polish I expected a deeper “pretzel” brown so I was surprised to find it was a nude.

Similar Shades: This colour is quite similar to San Tan-tonio in both application and appearance. San Tan-tonio is another interesting sandy coloured polish that is a bit darker and would work great for those of you who have more yellow undertones to your skin. Tickle My France-y would be your perfect nude shade if you are looking for a polish with rosy undertones.

Do You Lilac It?

Name: Do You Lilac It?

Collection:

Colour: Pastel Lilac Purple Creme

Coats: 1-2

Pros: Do I Lilac it? I Love it! This is one of my favourite polishes and I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet! It is super easy to apply and its bright lilac colour looks great on any skin tone. This polish does not need a top coat because (as you can see in the pictures) it already has a high shine. It is especially lovely in the spring and summer seasons for both manicures and pedicures.

Cons: I don’t remember ever having problems with this polish in the past but it was a bit gummy this time. I have had it for nearly 2 years though and it’s nearly all gone so I’m guessing that’s why.

Similar Shades: This polish is pretty unique as OPI most makes darker, glitterier purples but if you use a white base coat and a few layers of “Care to Danse” from the New York Ballet Collection, you can create a lighter purple that is similar to “Do You Lilac It?”

Are We There Yet?

Name: Are We There Yet?

Collection: Touring America

Colour: Coral Creme

Coats: 3

Pros: The luxurious crème formula is easy to apply. There is a tiny amount of micro-shimmer that really makes this colour pop even more. I also love that there is a mix of pink in with the orange that compliments my skin tone and softens the harshness of the orange.

Cons: Took 3 coats and I was still able to see a bit of nail. I am not a big fan of oranges so this would not be a colour I would usually reach for because it’s too bright. I also wish the micro-shimmer was more pronounced because it adds a fun feminine touch.

Similar shades: “Melon or Troy” is a lighter, shimmery pastel coral that is better for summer while “Chop-Stickin To My Story” is a deeper, pumpkin orange, best for autumn or winter.

Mermaid's Tears

Name: Mermaid’s Tears

Collection: Pirates of the Caribbean

Colour: Minty Pastel Green

Coats: 2

Pros: Amazing, vivid colour that gets lots of compliments. This is one of my favourite OPI shades, so much so that I even bought two. The pastel green is this summer’s “it” colour.

Cons: Polish is quite thick and can be streaky sometimes. Also this is the most popular shade from the Pirates collection so you might have a bit of trouble finding it.
