The Color Of Minnie

Name: The Color Of Minnie

Collection: Vintage Minnie Mouse

Colour:
Bright shimmery red

Coats: 2

Pros: This is a fun red that doesn’t look as dark or intense as some OPI reds like “Quarter of a Cent-Cherry,” making it a perfect summer red. It was so silky smooth upon application and for the most part easy to handle.

Cons: Although this polish went on perfectly for most of the nail, it was hard to control right at the edges causing some polish to stick to the skin around my nail. I did my very best to clean this up but it’s tough to do with such a bright red pigment. Also the formula is kind of sticky so it dents really easily which is unfortunate as dents are hard to touch up!

Similar Shades: This polish is quite similar to “Red Lights Ahead… Where?” and a bit brighter than “Wocka Wocka”

Red Lights Ahead… Where?

Name: Red Lights Ahead… Where?

Collection: Holland 2012

Colour: Orangey Red

Coats: 2 - 3

Pros: A bright and punchy red with an exciting twist of orange. It’s a bit thin and messy so I had to clean up the edges a bit, but it turned out with smooth gloss finish. This is a great colour for those of you who want to transition into orange shades without being too bold.

Cons: I prefer true reds instead of ones with orange in them. Also, even after 3 coats, the polish on the tips of my nails flaked really easily.

Similar Shades: Almost identical to “OPI on Collins Ave” from the South Beach and “Monsooner or Later” from the India Collection.

Pink Friday

Name: Pink Friday

Collection: Nicki Minaj Collection

Colour: Bright, Pale Pink

Coats: 2

Pros: Finally a light pink that is completely opaque! OPI has so many beautiful light pinks but I always have to put a thick white undercoat that makes the polish hard to remove. It has a great thick consistency that leaves a nice glossy pink crème.

Cons: Starts to peel and dent after a day or two.

Similar shades: “Second Honeymoon”, “Sweet Memories”, the list goes on and on as OPI has so many gorgeous light pink shades

No Room for the Blues

Name: No Room for the Blues

Collection: Bright Pair Collection

Colour: Bright “Smurf” Blue Creme

Coats: 2 (but needs touch-ups)

Pros: This super vibrant blue has a thick creamy consistency that was easy to remove. Two coats were enough to provide great coverage and shine.

Cons: Personally I find this colour a little too loud and ‘Smurfy” for daily wear. It also took way too much upkeep as it unfortunately kept chipping, denting and peeling.

Similar Shades: “Ogre The Top Blue” is really similar but just a little darker. “Yodel Me on My Cell” is a shimmery, more turquoise blue.
